What is a knockout compo?
Basically, this is the World Cup Finals of tracking!
How does it work?
A sample pack for each round will be released, which can only be altered within
the tracking program's capabilities. You cannot add any samples to this pack, but
we do appreciate the deletion of any unused samples. Each round has a deadline,
which each contestant must complete a song by, using the round's sample pack. When
a song is completed, ZIP it up, and send it to outpost@outpostmusic.com.
Make sure your name is clearly marked within the file, so we know whose it is! Your
song will then be paired up with another song, and three judges will listen to both
songs and vote for which they think is the best. The song with the most votes advances
to the next round!
How many entries will the knockout compo have?
The knockout compo does not have any "byes", so we will only allow a number of entries
that will ensure there are no "bye" rounds. For example, 8, 16, 32, 64, etc. There
is no limit to the number of entries we will allow, just the restriction that there
will be no byes.
